I am going to share how you can build your metabolism by making small changes in your diet and exercise routine. 1. Diet smarter. It is tempting to stay on a low calorie diet for long periods of time and you might think this is the only way to lose weight and get lean but there is a problem associated with this. When you stay on a low calorie diet for too long your metabolism grinds to a halt and of course without a metabolism there is no fat loss.

What you must do is mix things up for your body while you diet. A great way to do this is to add a higher calorie day to your dieting week. Simply stay strict on your low-cal diet for 6 days of the week then on day 7 boost your calorie intake by 25-50%. This brings your fat burning metabolism but to near full function.

2. Workout with intensity. Any type of cardio or aerobic workout will help you reach your fitness goal but to get the maximum benefit from your exercise you need to add short burst of intensity. Vary your pace during a workout by spending a few minutes at a low pace and then climbing up until you are working at a high pace and exerting your maximum effort. By moving up and down in intensity you get your metabolism higher for the next 24 hours or more.

3. Add resistance training. The amount of muscle you have plays a major role in determining your metabolic rate so working with resistance (weights, bands or body weight ) are essential for a strong metabolism. Just 2 or 3 sessions a week can keep your fat-burning high.
